More Hungry Americans

I have put my head in the sand in regards to national news and media reporting, for the most part of the last six months. It is one way that I deal with the stresses associated with society in its present state. I am an activist when it comes to plights on the planet, so once in a while I poke my head out and watch programs that I find informative and low or no stress. I want to help. It is part of who I am. I have recently seen reports on the new and growing masses of homeless in America. Tent cities are popping up everywhere. The “New” homeless are people like construction workers as one example. These people are also hungry. No money, means no money. There are thousands more holding on to their houses, but unable to buy food. One of my cousins could not buy food for her family last month and could not get government help even with a severely handicapped child. Government never had much money for this before and now the demand is greater and growing. Things are not comfortable for me as far as income right now, but I am so fortunate that I must donate even if it is a small amount. I encourage and ask everyone to do the same. Even if it is fifteen dollars it will add up. A lot of the hungry are children.

FeedingAmerica.org is one main source of help. There are other ways to help besides giving money. You can be an advocate for them or work in a food bank. David Arquette finds time to volunteer at a food bank. Spread the word and spread the love.

Feed the Hungry

Feed the Hungry

I have decided that all profit from the sales of our “Have a Heart” T-shirt at Marvelous, through August 1, 2009, will be donated to Feeding America.org. This is in addition to my personal donation.

The Bailout T-shirt

Someday, and I hope it is soon, this t-shirt design will not be relevant. When will the madness stop? Don’t forget to make your voice heard. Be active!

Bailout

In the mean time you can show the wankers what you think and wear it OUT LOUD! We designed this like an album cover with a song list and of course in Dolby. See the shirt here.

Put Your Senator In Their Place!

How these people get elected is ridiculous. I don’t care who they are. How they act, supposedly on our behalf, is obviously sickening. The idea is we elect people to represent OUR VOICE. Whether this happens or not, it is your responsibility to participate in our society, process and government. You have no right to bitch if you don’t. They get paid all too well for poor work. We would be fired if it were us in our work place.

GET UP! and STAY STANDING! Tell them continually what you want represented. Tell them what kind of job they are doing. Tell them they are YOUR VOICE. Don’t just sit on the bus and let the drivers run you over the cliff. Take control and responsibility. This is your country and the insanity needs to stop! Below is a link to the list of the US Senate and contact information. You can email, call, or write letters. You can send petitions. Whatever it is, do something! Don’t sit on the sidelines or you are no better than they are. NOW IS THE MOMENT!

This is what we call being a CITIZEN!

Poor weather in Rome fails to deter members of the left-wing General Confederation of Italian Workers from staging a protest against the government’s economic policies. (from the BBC)

Could Americans ever care enough to do such a thing today? This is a great example of Getting UP! and Standing UP!
